The subject of research is the governance for nature use in coastal and sea areas and the database containing information on spatial management of nature use (taking into account specific character of nature use in a sea coastal zone).The research is aimed at development of scientific and methodological foundation for informational and analytical support of decision-making in the field of nature management, directed at maintenance of sustainable development of coastal zone in the Odessa province.The research methods include: dialectical method of scientific cognition, system approach; basic principles of modern theory of nature use economics and environmental control; scientific cognition of sustainable development concept substantiating principles for interaction between social production and natural environment; general theory of systems, in the framework of which the coastal area is studied as a comprehensive ecoeconomy system consisting of various interrelated components of natural and artificial origin.The scientific and methodological fundamentals for elaboration of information and analysis database for maintenance of the integrated management system in the sea coastal zone (SCZ) are developed. Information demands for SCZ integrated management at different levels are defined by priority. The database structure based on the up-to-date GIS technologies is proposed. Suggestions concerning a system of gathering information for elaboration of the database on SCZ management system as well as ones on organization of information-and-analysis centre intended to provide SCZ integrated management system are developed.
