There have been made the researches that allows us to estimate the influence of the sorting hump construction onto the breaking up process, the recommendations concerning the improvement of the sorting hump construction are given. The ergatic model of the sorting complexes functioning is developed. The researches concerning the interconnection between the quality of the sorting process and breaking-up speed variation are made. There were given the recommendations as for the usage the differential speed under the conditions of incoming trainflow irregularity.
