Basing on acid-base interaction between the substances the calculations of solubility in saline melts NaCl, KCl and NaCl-KCl of individual barium fluoride and magnesium fluoride, as well as complex fluoride compounds, which include a significant deviation from additivity. Experimental specimens of complex fluorides of barium and magnesium are synthesized. Physico-chemical methods of investigation show reduction of oxygen-containing impurities in the compound of barium fluoride and magnesium fluoride compared to the initial individual fluorides. Using of the materials of complex compounds BaMgF4, Ba2MgF6 for create interference optics for the middle IR range of a spectrum is predicted
