It is established that the influence of pore opening on ROS production is controlled through membrane potential regulation, transmembrane ion exchange and respiration rate of mitochondria. The decreasing of ROS production due to pore opening at stationary conditions is the result of partial membrane depolarization. The important physiological function of the pore is stated that consists in supporting of low matrix Са2+ and decreasing ROS production due to partial membrane depolarization.
