The subject of study is professional development of teachers in the system of continuous teacher training in foreign countries. The object of research is theoretical principles and practical approaches to competence approach implementing to the preparation and ongoing professional development of teaching personnel in foreign countries. Its goal is the implementation of integrated scientific analysis of theoretical and methodological principles and features of practice-oriented component of the implementation of this approach in training and further development of teachers for schools of different levels of education in foreign countries. Also it is supposed the scientific evidence of promising innovative approaches to improving the national system of lifelong teacher education in conditions of competence and qualification measurements implementation to building educational content. The relevance and importance of research results due to the needs of the development of quality teacher education in Ukraine as an efficient tool for producing highly qualified teachers, armed with the necessary competence and qualifications. The social significance of the results is based on the rationale set of new requirements for teachers, in-depth understanding of contemporary approaches to their professionalism in the different educational systems. Specificity of the theoretical nature of the study led to the application of such methods of investigation as interpreting-and-analytical method based on which the study of Ukrainian and foreign documentary sources using synthesis, analogies, organize, summarize is made; the method of comparative historical analysis, methods of theoretical generalization, chronologically-systematic method for study the evolution of the objectives, rationale genesis competence approach in education. Objects of implementation are Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (theoretical basis of modern strategy of Education of Ukraine), and the educational institutions of different levels of education and accreditation (training of teaching facilities on general pedagogy, Comparative Education and History Education, training graduate students students, seekers).
