The technology of smelting and out-of-furnace treatment of transport metal from oxygen converter steel including rail steel of grade K76F including smelting of half-finished product in oxygen converter, carburizing by cast iron in steel teeming ladle and following steel processing in ladle furnace is developed. The technology for heat treatment of standard rails from steel grade K76F provides rail hardening in quenching machine where temperature of self-tempering is within 520-550 C. Laboratory tests have shown that standard rails, switch point rails, splices and baseplates from oxygen converter steel meet the requirements of DSTU 4344, DSTU 4814, TU U DP 27.1-31632138-384: 2011, and also GOST 16277. According to results of bench tests for fatigue conducted at "VNIIZHT" (Moscow), rails of type R65 from oxygen converter steel of grade K76F meet the requirements of NB ZT TM 01-98 "Elements of railway superstructures. Standards of safety".
