The dependence of the length of a vertical fracture of the length of the plastic zone in its target range, strength and reservoir properties of the array coal-rock investigated. An analytical solution of the mixed problem of the distribution of stresses in anisotropic half-plane that simulates the massif, in the development of the coal seam longwall, and studied the effect of the support pillar on the state of stress near the working. Based on the analytical solution of an axisymmetric mixed problem for a transversely isotropic half-space lying on an elastic basis proposed the algorithm for calculating the stresses on the boundary under the action of the boundary plane distributed load. The regularities of the redistribution of stresses in an anisotropic array on areas with an abrupt change in the physical and mechanical properties of coal during the cleaning work to plow longwalls were established.
