Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 Disseminated tumor cells (DTC) were detected in bone marrow (BM) of 56% gastric cancer patients, by this in patients with М0 category - in 51% and with М1 category - in 69% cases. It was clearly determined that high level of hypoxia in primary tumor positively correlates with frequency of DTC appearance in BM. By DTC detection in BM the level of Flt-1+ specimens of BМ is 67%, by absence of DTC - 45%. The probability of DTC appearance in BM by high level of Flt-1+ cells in tumor is observed in 60% cases. CD8+ cells in BM were detected in 87% patients, by this among the patients with CD8+ BM ДTC are detected in 30% patients and in 70% patients ДTC were not detected. It is relevance that the same indices of one-year survival were detected for patients with CD8+ДTC+ and CD8+ДTC? BM that confirms the importance of CD8+ cells in BM for the control of minimal residual disease (MRD). It was determined by 31Р NMR spectroscopy the significant decrease of phospholipids concentration in gastric cancer blood, in particular PC, LPC and PE+SM by 20-40%/ It is associated with stage disease. The link between LPC (lysophosphatidylcholine) concentration and DTC in BM. It was shown that MMP-2 activity in BM of gastric cancer patients with DTC was increased by 2-3 fold in comparison with those in BM of patients without DTC. Obtained results have a priority, in particular the link between hypoxic profile of gastric cancer and MRD development was shown the first time. It was recommended to use of hypoxia level in primary tumor, density of VEGF+ and Flt-1+ cells and MMP-2 acitivty in tumor, density of Flt-1+ cells and MMP-2 activity in BM, as well as change of LPC concentration in blood serum as a factors for risk of early (dormant) metastasis and prognosis of disease outcome.
