Scientific purpose - identification of primary positions, improvement of existing and development of new qualifying professions descriptions according to labour-market demands and higher education content for training specialists by the branch 0503 "Economics and entrepreneurship" directions "Finances and Credit", "Accounting and Auditing". The methods of the research: dialectical logic, structural, functional and contingency analysis, the unity of theoretical and empirical, the dialectic of general and particular, the interdisciplinary approach, the comparative statistic analysis, the system analysis and synthesis, inquiry, sociological studies, the diagnostic methods (the expert estimation, the generalization) and other methods of the scientific cognition in particular concerning the interconnection and interdependence of the objective reality phenomena. Scientific novelty: - the improvement of theoretical and methodological approaches to identification of primary positions and qualifying descriptions of finance and credit sphere specialists was realized; - the approaches to development of the methodology for study and assessment of finance and credit sphere specialists professional competence were defined. They can be taken as theoretical basis for further modification and approbation in the study process for use in staff recruitment, promotion, annual activity evaluation and personnel certification; - the results of sociological studies of respondents - specialists in the finance and credit sphere were generalized; - the analysis of empirical data, received in the result of sociological studies of finance and credit sphere specialists was carried out; the proposals concerning primary positions of finance and credit sphere specialists were prepared; - the proposals and recommendations concerning the improvement of: the competence structure and content of variation part of educational qualifying descriptions of Bachelor and Master of finance and credit sphere; the content of variation part of educational vocational programs for training Bachelors and Masters of finance and credit sphere; the requirements to the level of competences of Bachelors and Masters were worked out; - the recommendations concerning changes in educational vocational programs for training specialists by the branch 0503 "Economics and entrepreneurship", directions "Finances and Credit", Accounting and auditing" and specialties "Banking", "Finances", "Accounting and auditing" (variation component) were worked out; - the recommendations concerning changes in educational qualifying descriptions for training specialists of the directions "Finances and Credit", "Accounting and auditing" and specialties "Banking", "Finances", "Accounting and auditing" (variation component) were worked out; - the approaches and statements about creation of branch higher education standards on the basis of competence approach have found their further development; - the system of professional competences for the personnel by the main skills models was developed; the elements of personnel rating and development computer-based system are defined; - the proposals and recommendations concerning the efficiency of advanced training of the personnel of the National bank of Ukraine were developed; the ways of functioning improvement and development of banks personnel advanced training and retraining system were worked out. Research results are proposed for improvement of specialists training program, formation of bank personnel certification set according to the types and levels of professional competences, development of variation component of educational vocational programs and educational qualifying descriptions. Efficiency of research results implementation consists in rational use of financial resources for the training, retraining and advanced training of banking system personnel, enhancement of efficiency and quality of professional duties fulfillment.
