Tendency of national manufacturers of railway rolling stock for World Economic Area challenges them to carry out the certification of their products for compliance with international and European standards. Therefore, analysis and evaluation of rolling stock brake efficiency for compliance with UIC requirements have a significant importance. Investigations with calculations for possible harmonization of brake efficiency of freight wagons of domestic manufacture with international standards were carried out. Analytical dependences for determination of braking weight were obtained during investigations accompanied by calculations. This allows to determine the permissible speed and braking distance of the wagon at design stage according to UIC requirements.
