The object of research - the processes of heat exchange between the working fluid of the heat pump, the cooling medium and the medium which is heated, the energy performance of a heat pump. The subject of research - the influence of heat source parameters and modes of heat consumption on the energy efficiency of the heat pump,. The purpose of the research. Improving energy efficiency of heating systems due to the choice of rational parameters and grounding the approach to the control of heat pumps modes. The criteria of expediency of using heating equipment are grounded. A mathematical model of energy and physical performance of the heat pump is worked out. It differs from existing approaches that work the working substance of heat pump shown as a two-phase medium and there are changes in the thermophysical parameters of the channel along the evaporator and condenser. It was obtained a complex methodology of determining the criteria for using of heat pumps, taking into account the specific parameters of building structures, climatic conditions, the selected region, the characteristics of the refrigerant, the refrigeration cycle and allows for the basis of the seasonal cost of fuel, choose the most efficient in terms of energy efficiency heating equipment.
