In this paper we study methods for improving the adsorption properties of carbon nanotubes by using artificial formation of defects in its structure by irradiation with electrons and gamma rays. The effects of chemical and thermal treatment, as well as the radiation effect on the sorption capacity of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCN) were experimentally studied. The methodology of the experiments on the irradiation of carbon nanotubes with electrons was developed. It is shown that irradiation leads to an increase the mass of adsorbed hydrogen in 2.5 times.
