The purpose - working out of scientific and technical bases of the system analysis and optimum designing of the automobile gasoline engine of a nonconventional design behind criteria of fuel efficiency and toxicity of the fulfilled gases in the conditions of use of a replaceable compression ratio. Probe methods - analytical and experimental. Mathematical models of working process of the gasoline engine and the gear of change of a compression ratio are developed at regulation of loading by throttling on an admission and modes of Atkinson and Miller on which basis the analysis and a choice of rational parametres of the engine is made. The research engine is developed. Are spent it is settlement-experimental research. Efficiency of the engine is reached at the expense of smaller time of operation (in 2... 3 times) the gear of change of a compression ratio and in 8...10 times a smaller expense of energy for compression ratio regulation in comparison with the best foreign workings out. In the gasoline engine with a variable compression ratio on 20...30 % fuel consumption and on 10 is lowered... 20 % are reduced blowouts of soiling substances. It is established that regulation of loading by modes of Atkinson and Miller not essentially improves fuel efficiency of the engine.
