The aim was to identify, develop and introduct in scientific research of documentary, cartographic, memoirs, historiographical materials related to the history of Western Ukraine, prepress collections of documents, monographs and articles. In the course of the project funds are unable to process domestic and foreign archives for identification, archaeological work and preparation for printing documents that reflect different aspects of socio-political and cultural life of the Ukrainians as on their native land and abroad. It was investigated that documentary, cartographic and historiographic sources contain important information about cultural, religious, social, political, economic life of Western Ukraine in the XVIIth and early XXIth centuris, the mapping of the Ukrainian lands in the early modern period, reflecting characteristics and extent of administrative reforms and religious bias of the Galician (Lviv) hierarchy, the cultural and social relations of early modern artisan population, the national liberation struggle of 20-50s of the twentieth century., processes symbols of cities, villages, regions of Ukraine.
