Hemodialysis patients have a high intensity processes of chronic inflammation, which is accompanied by a significant increase of the proinflammatory cytokines levels. Activation of lipid peroxidation, decrease of antioxidant reserve, severe endotoxemia with accumulation of endotoxin smaller than 10 nm in the blood in dialysis patients are proved. Chronic inflammation is a universal pathogenetic mechanism for the development of many pathological conditions. Restless legs syndrome, itchy skin, nutritional status disorders, anemia are associated with increased levels of proinflammatory cytokines.
