The object of the scientific school research is language semantics as a reflexion of the ethnic conceptual and language world view. The purpose of the research is a systemic analysis of the language semantics (lexis, phraseology, syntax); investigating comparative characteristics of different system languages (a theoretical and applied aspects). The school worked at the problems of functional and cognitive linguistics (on the material of Germanic and Slavonic languages), theoretical translation studies and practice of translation. The theoretical research results present a certain contribution to the text linguistics, the theory of discourse, the theory of language genres, cognitive linguistics, translation studies.
