The purpose of research is to improve efficiency of operation of lifting machines with flexibly suspended cargo by choosing the optimal conditions. Methods of research: theoretical methods are based on analytical mechanics, theory of machines and mechanisms, variational, differential and integral calculus, mathematical modeling and automatic control theory; experimental methods are based on physical modeling and mathematical statistics with using of the developed laboratory setup of the crane carriage with flexibly suspended cargo, inverter, measuring equipment with the force, displacement and velocity sensors, the software for invertor control as well. Novelty - the integral kinematical and dynamical assessment criteria for movement modes of lifting machines have been suggested. The optimization method for their movement modes has been developed on base of these criteria. Field of application - fhe results of investigation can be used for construction and modernization of existing lifting machines with flexibly suspended cargo.
