The gas pressure is described by the Clapeyron-Mendeleev equation. The solids are subjected to sequential normal and shear forces. Due to the surface irregularity of the one of the solids, a gap between solids is formed under normal loading. Shear forces cause appearance of slip zones. By making use of the method of complex potentials and the method of intercontact gaps, the problem was reduced to a system of two singular integral equations for the gap height and relative shift of surfaces in the slip zone. The contact parameters of the structure were analysed on the basis of analytical-numerical solution. In particular, it was shown that the size of the slip zone, maximum value of tangential stresses and relative shift of surfaces monotonically increase as the shear load increases. It was revealed that the local slip of solids can be realized within the groove as well as outside the groove. The 3D contact problem for two half-spaces with a surface groove partially filled by a compressible liquid was reduced to an integro-differential equation for the gap height. Its solution was constructed in the closed form, and the contact behaviour of the structure and the transformation of the gap under loading were analysed. It was found that this behaviour is qualitatively different for two stages of loading. At the first stage. as long as the gap volume is greater than the initial volume of the liquid, the geometric parameters of the gap dramatically decrease with increase in load. This decrease becomes significantly slower at the second stage after the moment when the load exceeds the critical value at which the gap volume is equal to the volume of the liquid.
