Within the framework of the research project, the mathematical technique was developed for solving a new class of non-classical contact elastic problems for conforming solids with regularly located surface grooves. Intercontact gaps closure in the loading process and slip zones development in accordance with the Amontons-Coulomb's law were taken into account. By making use of the method of complex potentials, the problems were reduced to singular integral equations with the Hilbert kernel for an unknown function of the relative tangential shift of surfaces. The stresses and displacements in the solids are also expressed through this function. The features of contact interaction between solids with periodic surface relief under local frictional slip in the case of monotonically increasing loading were investigated. The dependence of slip zones size on applied shear load and the effect of friction forces on distribution of relative shear were analyzed. On the basis of the obtained analytical solution, the normal and tangential stresses at the interface and in the solids have been investigated. The critical value of shear forces, by exceeding which the slip is initiated, was found. It was shown that the partial slip of surfaces can be realized only within the groove, and, if the slip zone length becomes equal to the groove length, the transition from partial slip to full slip happens.
