PTI-1 DNA consists of 2123 base pairs, 5'-UTR RNA shows high homology with the 23S rRNA Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyorhinis, E.coli. Coding sequence has 99.7% identity with the human translation elongation factor eEF1A1. PTI-1 was described as a dominant oncogene involved in malignant transformation. Synthesis of PTI-1 RNA in non oncogenic prostate cell lines resulted in manifestations of carcinogenicity in mice, which were introduced such cells. Conversely, inhibition of gene expression of PTI-1 antisense RNA in prostate cancer cells caused a reversal of the phenotype of cancer cells to normal. Reduction of PTI-1 by short interfering RNA inhibited the growth of human prostate cancer cells. PTI-1 was detected in blood samples of patients with invasive prostate cancer, but not in those that had a benign adenoma. Mechanisms of oncogene PTI-1 is not known. There is no information on whether it is caused by the activities of its hypothetical protein product of the RNA.5481 Product Description popup.authors Висловух А.А Власенко Д.О Новосильна О.В Порубльова Л.В Тросюк Т.В.
