In all cases, the sensitivity of these cell lines to landomycins slightly decreased (by 20-50%) compared to the original wild-type cells, whereas their resistance to doxorubicin increased by 100-200 times. This unique feature of landomycins is explained by specific production of hydrogen peroxide in target cells by these compounds, in contrast to the widely used anticancer drug doxorubicin, which produces toxic superoxide anions. Blocker of reactive oxygen species N-acetylcysteine completely inhibited proapoptotic activity of landomycins, but did not affect the action of doxorubicin. Taking into consideration high anticancer potential of these antitumor antibiotics, which are on par with doxorubicin on sensitive cell lines, posses 5-7 times higher activity on resistant ones, landomycins can be a real alternative to expensive imported drugs in the domestic oncology to treat patients with drug-resistant. The results of this study are published in one article and 5 abstracts. Product Description popup.authors Панчук Ростислав Русланович popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
