Based of theoretical re-thinking of the concept of human development, presence of a dialectic correlation between demographic processes and human development was proved; the main demographic trends were analyzed, an impact of changes in health and survival rates of generations on human development parameters was characterized; a reconstruction of demographic dynamics of Ukraine for a long-term period was realized for the first time, demographic waves were revealed and described; the changes in historical configuration of marital and family processes were investigated for the first time, as well as dynamics of mortality in Ukraine; the methodology of assessment of human development of the regions of Ukraine was upgraded, while the corresponding methods were improved; the base trends of human development in the regions of Ukraine were analyzed; policy measures on ensuring human development in conditions of instability of population reproduction were developed.
