To achieve the goal and solve the problems in the study used general scientific methods and special knowledge of legal phenomena. In particular, for the classification of Web-sites was used formal-logical method that allowed to build classification of the objects on different grounds. When determining the intellectual property belonging to the Web-site was used systemic-structural method that allowed to define a list of objects and analyze the features of the regime of legal protection. Also, there's a systemic-functional method revealed a variety of internal and external relations of the object being studied and, consequently, draw appropriate conclusions. The paper used traditional methods of theoretical and empirical research - abstraction, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, allowed to identify gaps, inconsistencies and inaccuracies that exist in the law on the promotion and protection of intellectual property rights with respect to the Web-sites.
