The theoretical and methodological background research is based on the general and special methods that include dialectical method of scientific knowledge and the fundamentals of forensic expert study. To achieve the goal and solve the problems in the study used general scientific methods and special knowledge of legal phenomena. In particular, for the classification of Web-sites was used formal-logical method that allowed to build classification of the objects on different grounds. When determining the intellectual property belonging to the Web-site was used systemic-structural method that allowed to define a list of objects and analyze the features of the regime of legal protection. Also, there's a systemic-functional method revealed a variety of internal and external relations of the object being studied and, consequently, draw appropriate conclusions. The paper used traditional methods of theoretical and empirical research - abstraction, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, allowed to identify gaps, inconsistencies and inaccuracies that exist in the law on the promotion and protection of intellectual property rights with respect to the Web-sites.
