Purpose: to promote systematization and unification of the Ukrainian archival terminological system as well as adaptation of national archival terminology to world terminological system, to provide compatibility of the Ukrainian archival terminology with the international one. Methods of research: historical and systematic approach, structural and functional method, methods of analysis and synthesis, information method, classification method, motivational method and content analysis, etc. Novelty of the research: fixation, revision, regulation, and normalization of existing terminological system according to the achieved level of knowledge and creation of new terms for those concepts that have just appeared, and for famous ones naming of which are still missing; creation of the first Ukrainian-foreign translated terminological dictionary on archival affairs. Theoretical and practical results: implementation of the dictionary will enhance the use of international standards and best international experience in native archival field, development and unification of the Ukrainian archival terminological system, advancement and regulation of national scientific terminology, correct use of archival terms and nomens in written and spoken language, adaptation of the Ukrainian terminology to the international terminological system. Scope of implementation: assistance to archivists, translators of professional literature, postgraduates, graduate students in their work with English literature on archival affairs, as well as to foreign students and professionals who wish to join the Ukrainian archival science. Efficiency of implementation: ensuring the development and unification of the Ukrainian archival terminological system, establishment and implementation of the national scientific terminology. The dictionary consists of Ukrainian-English dictionary and English-Ukrainian index (dictionary), introduction, which explains the principles and rules for organizing information, provided advice on the use of the dictionary.
