Object of study - passenger cars (couchette cars model ПВ-40) which belong to the State enterprise "Donetsk railway", served their specified lifetime out - 28 years from the date of building. Object of work - determination of the possibility for passenger cars service life extension. Technical diagnosis of the car was carried out according to "Technical diagnosis methodology of passenger cars which served specified service life out, with a purpose of its extension" ЦЛ-0070, approved by the UkrZaliznytsya order from the 25 of June 2008 on № 304-Ц. Research work results are used for solving the problem of the carriage rolling stock car service life extension.5481
