Object of study - eight-wheel open-top wagon of model 12-757 (project K05.12-00.00.00.0-00 GP "PKTB CV UkrZaliznytsya"), which passed complete overhauling, including replacement of the old wagon body to a new one. Object of work - strength assessment for eight-wheel wagon body of model 12-757. Method of study - finite-element strength calculation with a use of programs, implemented for personal computers. The most stressed points of construction for every load conditions were defined. Visualization of stressed and strained construction state is given. Research work results can be used during wagon design debugging, for tests preparation of mentioned wagon, and for IDC (inter-departmental commission)5481
