Studies of IPO-38 antigen expression levels in malignant tumors of different histogenesis, namely, lymphoid and myeloid forms of leukemia, non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas and tumors of the central nervous system were performed. A significant heterogeneity by expression of IPO-38 antigen was revealed in different cytological and histological variants of malignant tumors. It was shown that high levels of IPO-38 antigen expression correlate with poor prognosis in small lymphocytes lymphomas and glial tumors of different grade. Thus, the identification of IPO-38 antigen using national monoclonal antibodies can be used to assess the degree of tumor malignancy.
