As a result of the project revealed that the endocytic adapter protein intersectin , which is predominantly localized in the plasma membrane can be transported into the nucleus. This process is regulated by covalent attachment of ubiquitin molecules to intersectin , which is mediated by the ubiquitin - ligase AIP4. At the core of intersectin binds heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K. For the first time it has been shown association of endocytic protein intersectin with Fyn transcripts. Furthermore, overexpression of intersectin resulted in increased expression of c - Myc, p53. These results indicate that the endocytic proteins may regulate gene transcription, and be associated with transport of gene transcripts.
