Conditions for conversion of gaseous Halon 1301 to solid trifluoromethylzinc bromide were optimized. The last one was used for ozone non depleting iodotrifluoromethane synthesis. This process was scaled and experimental samples of iodotrifluoromethane were obtained and delivered to The Ukrainian civil protection scientific research institute of UkrSPCI. Perfluoroalkylation of aromatic compounds bearing the electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents using trifluoromethyl- and pentafluoroethylcopper (which were obtained from trifluoromethylzinc bromide or trifluoromethyltrimethylsilane) was studied. Starting from bromotrifluoromethane (Halon 1301) trifluoromethyl phosphonic acids and their derivatives were synthesized. Last compounds were transformed into alfa-aminoalkylphosphinic acids, glyphosate analogs and lithium hexafluorophosphate derivatives being the components of chemical sources of current. The methods of alfa-tetrafluoroethoxy- and trichlorotrifluoroethoxy derivatives of malonic dialdehyde and its tetraethylacetal preparation starting from Halon 2402 and Freon 113 were developed. The compounds obtained can be used in synthesis of azoles bearing polyfluoroalkoxy groups.
