The principles and methods of selection of biomaterial samples from populations with the purpose of representative estimation of their state are worked out. The basic levels of viability of populations with different living strategy and the levels of its fluctuation in time are determined. The role of taxes in supporting a certain level of viability and homeostasis of insects population is experimentally validated. The method of initial material selection and the system of monitoring insects viability in ecosystems are elaborated.
