Research objective - to determine the influence of theoretically based pedagogical conditions on the level of formed preparedness for professional and personal self-development of engineering and technical professionals. Research methods – empirical: diagnostic techniques, pedagogical experiment, individual and group interviews; statistical: methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of empirical data to verifying the statistical significance of results. Results and novelty – pedagogical conditions for engineering and technical professionals’ readiness for professional and personal self-development are identified and scientifically grounded for the first time. They include: the formation of engineers’ personal sense in their professional activity and positive motivation for professional and personal self-development; activation of self-knowledge directed on engineers’ abilities and qualities formation which are needed for a successful professional activity; an organization of engineers’ individual work as the main form of work on self-development, stimulation of self-education and self-upbringing processes; a theoretical model of readiness for professional and personal self-development and its structural components are developed; structure of engineers’ readiness for professional and personal self-development is clarified as a collection of motivational, reflexive and cognitive and activity components; different forms and methods, such as individual work, portfolio, game projection etc, have obtained further development. Assumptions about predicted further development of the research object – looking up for the optimal technology of engineers’ readiness to professional and personal self-development formation.
