The paper demonstrates absorber rod manufacturing flow charts and investigates the effects of vibration loading modes on the density distribution of powder absorbers along the length of the absorber stack. The radial power distribution density and temperatures in the absorber rod with powder and pellet absorbers have been modeled and calculated. The axial and radial ultimate compression and tensile strengths have been determined. The paper also provides the corrosion test results for dysprosium hafnate pellets
