The purpose of research - based on the requirements of the current standard for onion set and prove experimentally specifications ( size- weight parameters ) of onion bulbs with an elliptical shape , and to assess the quality of other forms of onion for its improvement. It has established that the structure of the crop of onion varieties Lubchik elliptical ( elongated ) shape up the bulk of standard bulbs (87.3 %) with the largest transverse diameter from 3.9 cm to 4.3 cm and a length 10.7 cm , an average of equal weight - 97,7-105,0 g with increasing diameter bulbs from 3.0 cm to 6.0 cm index form decreases from 3.1 to 2.0.
