We investigated samples of ballast water from of vessels 3580 (3,542 foreign and Ukrainian 8) to: general microbial count (3354 samples) of the bacteria Escherichia coli (3563 samples), coliphage (3310 samples), pathogenic (3094 samples). In 0.48% of samples from international and 16.70% of Ukrainian of vessels exceeding the defined total microbial count of more than 10,000 cfu / ml. In 5.68% of samples from foreign and 12.25% of Ukrainian of vessels defined excess bacteria of E. coli 5000 CFU / 100 ml. The ballast water of vessels represent an epidemic hazard in relation to intestinal infections.
