Object of the research is trade and economic cooperation and deepening of integration processes in the post-Soviet region. Purpose of the research is to analyze the transformation of the Customs Union (CU) and the Common Economic Area (CEA) into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and to develop proposals on deepening Ukraine's cooperation with the Customs Union and the Common Economic Area. Methods: dialectic, systematic approach, retrospective and comparative analysis, synthesis, and grouping. The results of the research will be used by the Department of the Trade and Economic Cooperation with the CIS countries and the Russian Federation within the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine in making recommendations for deepening Ukraine's cooperation with the Customs Union and the Common Economic Area and for preparation of analytical reports about the transformation of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Area into the Eurasian Economic Union.
