The aim of the research: to provide the theoretical explanation and the experimental check of the effectiveness of the didactic and methodological provision of the formation of the key and the subject competences of junior schoolchildren in the educational process. The methods of the research: the analysis of the philosophical, the psychological and the pedagogical as well as the methodological literature, the thesis researches, the mass questionnaires, the individual conversations with pupils, teachers, parents, and other categories of pedagogical staff, the study of the school documentation and the results of the educative and practical activity of pupils, the direct observations on the activity of pupils and teachers in the educational process, the constantal and the formational experiment. The gained results: the theoretical bases of the formation of the pupils' key competence of the "ability to learn" and the subject competences (the scientific definition, the essence and the structure, the content characteristics of each component, the didactic realization conditions, the formation criteria); the methods of formation of the junior pupils' key competence of the "ability to learn" as well as such subject competences as lingual, speech, sociocultultural ones in the process of learning the Ukrainian Language, reading, mathematical and health-preservative ones in the learning process of Healthcare, natural and social ones in the process of teaching the course "Ukraine and Me". They were represented in the manuscripts of the planned collective monograph "The Formation of the Subject Competences of the Primary Schoolchildren". The novelty of the gained results is the following: in the scientific specification of the theoretical basis of the development of the didactic and the methodological provision of the formation of the key and the subject competences of the junior schoolchildren in the learning process of the Ukrainian Language, Reading, Mathematics, Healthcare, natural studies and social components of the course "Ukraine and Me", the essence of the principal terms of the research problem was specified. It is the stage of the implementation of the normative documents, scientific and methodological articles, speeches at the scientific and practical conferences and seminars, round-table discussions, pedagogical readings, senates of the managers of the educational establishments, lectures for the methodologists and the primary school teachers. The main constructive as well as technical and economical indexes are the following: the correspondence of the work to the normative documents of the scientific-research work and the modern requirements to the organization of the educative process in the primary school. The practical value of the work: the results of the work are practically-oriented and provide the organization of the educative process in the primary school in correspondence to the new conceptual fundamentals of its functioning. They can be used for the creation of the variative academic programs, textbooks, handbooks, and tutorials for the junior schoolchildren. They are intended for the primary teachers, primary methodologists; they can be used by students of the higher pedagogical establishments of different accreditation levels, in the system of the post-graduate pedagogical education of the primary teachers. The following issues demonstrate the effectiveness of the performed work: the results of the approbation of the developed methodologies of formation of the primary pupils' key competence of the "ability to work" and subject competences in the process of the local experiment, certificates of the implementation of the work results which were provided by the regional institutes of the post-graduate education, the higher pedagogical establishments, the education departments of the regional state administrations.
