Objective: to study storage quality of dry matter in preserved maize grain stored using preservatives or inert gases in big bags, polymeric sleeves and bins. To study digestibility of the essential nutrients of preserved maize grain forage and to determine it productive effect when used in feeding dairy cows of high performance. Methods: general zootechnical and biochemical methods for feed evaluation. For the first time the technology of storage of wet grain maize in big bags, polymeric sleeves and bins using biological preservatives and inert gases is developed. Losses of dry matter and quality indicators of reserved grain forage are determined, nutritional value and digestibility of essential nutrients of preserved grain forage and its productive effect when used in feeding highly productive dairy cows are determined as well. Preservation of dry matter of wet maize grain when stored in big bags is 97.5-98.5%, in polymeric sleeves - 96.0-97.5 % and in bins - 94-96%. By the biochemical composition - total acidity (%) of rolled grain in polymeric sleeves is 1.65, in the bins - 0.77, and in big bags - 0.23, ammonia content - 51.0, 31.9 and 18 0 mg% respectively. Nutritive value of preserved wet maize grain is connected with moisture content in it, and it is 0.98-1.15 feed units regardless of the technology of storage. Digestibility of the essential nutrients of preserved maize grain in the composition of the diet is 70-72%, and milk production is 8% higher compared with the use of dry grain in the diet. When technology of storing wet maize grain in big bags is used total costs in monetary terms per 1 ton of wet grain are 3-4 times less than when it is dried.
