The state and status of conservation of crop wild relatives (CWR) in Ukraine, their ecological and coenotic peculiarities and resource potential were analysed; proposals to the draft National CWR Conservation Strategy as a part of the national strategy for plant conservation, have been developed; in collaboration with partners (from USA), molecular phylogeographic studies demonstrated that in Ukraine (Danube delta) occurs Armoracia macrocarpa, the wild ancestor of crop horseradish; the species is proposed for listing in the Red Data Book of Ukraine and its introduction to culture is recommended. The manuscript of a monograph, "Wild Crop Relatives in the flora Ukraine and their conservation" has been drafted.
