It was shown the correlation of mutagenesis level changes and this repair enzyme expression level on the different stages of murine and human cell line stabilization. This fact supports the hypothesis that MGMT took place in mutagenesis processes during cell culture adaptation to in vitro conditions. In tumor and normal tissues, and in some standart tumor cell lines in vitro the presence of unknown protein recognizing by monoclonal anti-MGMT antibodies was shown.
