The effect of a series of iron(II) clathrochelates on the activity of T7 RNA-polymerase in the in vitro transcription assay. High inhibiting effect of some complexes at nanomolar concentrations was found. Among the tested compounds, five active inhibitors of transcription were found with IC50 in the range 500-960 nM and especially efficient complex with ІС50 = 150 nM.
