Object of study - Varvarivska saponite deposits ( Khmelnitsky region. Ukraine ). Purpose - to study the processes of sorption of fluoride ions and modified natural saponite . Research methods - destructive energodispersive renthenfluorestsentnyy analysis , X-ray analysis, potentsiomeometrychnyy method and atomic adsorption analysis. Main results - studied sorption and acid -base properties of saponite . The optimal range of pH values ??, the effect of background electrolyte to select conditions for effective adsorption of fluoride ions. The influence of the modification of saponite hydrochloric acid in its acid-base and sorption properties. Sorption isotherms are compared fluoride ions and hydrochloric acid in the original and modified saponite . Established that modification saponite hydrochloric acid is of practical importance because it allows to increase the sorption capacity of the mineral in relation to fluoride ions and regulate water hardness , keeping the value of this parameter in the specified regulations borders.
