Formation of nano-dimensional structures on the non-irradiated part of the p-CdTe crystal surface under nanosecond ruby laser irradiation were detected and investigated. It was shown that their formation is caused by the effect of long-range action of the laser pulse with intensity I = 20 MW/cm2. Such formation was explained by the influence of pressure gradient of the superficial acoustic wave, in particular, within the "vacancy pumps" mechanism on the surface.
