Object of study – shunting diesel locomotives series ТГМ6, ТГМ4 (all modifications) belonging to the branch of “Metallurgical complex” PJSC “Donetsksteel” – metallurgical plant”, that served their service life out – 25 years since building date. Object of work – to determine if operating lifetime extension of the shunting diesel locomotives is possible. Technical diagnosis of the diesel locomotives was performed according to “Procedure of the technical diagnosis and remaining lifetime evaluation of shunting diesel locomotives frames series ТГМ6, ТГМ4, that served their lifetime out, with a purpose of its extension”. Research work results are used when solving an operation extension problem of shunting diesel locomotives belonging to operation fleet of “Metallurgical complex” PJSC “Donetsksteel”.
