These nanoscale metal-catalysts tested in the reduction of ketones to alcohols showed high catalytic efficiency with significant enantioselectivities of asymmetric transformations. Previously unknown inner chiral trihydroxycalix[4]arenes bearing diformyl-, diphosphino- and triphosphino groups on the upper rim of crown macrocycle, which immobilization on Ti (IV) silica gel will create heterogeneous nano-sized catalysts for the reactions of selective oxidation of alkenes. Based on the vicinal pyrrolylphosphine aldehydes previously unknown optically active bidentate P-, N ligands were synthesized. New mesoporous silicon MCM-41 immobilized on them enantiomerically pure pyrrolylphosphine imine ligands capable of coordinating with transition metals were prepared. These are nanoscale precatallysts of a number of reactions of C-C bond formation. The research performed would help to create efficient nanoscale metal-catalysts of asymmetric reactions, which can significantly improve the efficiency and sustainability of chemical processes. The catalytic chlorination of chlorobenzene at 110 0С using mesoporous activated carbon was investigated. The pore diameter is estimated to range between 25-35 nm. In order to improve the para-selectivity of catalytic chlorination of aromatic compounds it is expedient to use carbon nanotubes with an inner diameter of 0.8 - 1 2 nanometers.
