Morphological characteristics of sciatic nerve of rats in different time after injury, after injury of the sciatic nerve in hypothyroidism and after of the sciatic nerve in hypothyroidism under the hand of combined medical correction prove that the retrograde degeneration in distal segment of the sciatic nerve is extended under the conditions of hypothyroidism, which leads to delay the beginning of regenerative manifestations, in comparison with the control group. Extension of degeneration was observed in rats with hypothyroidism under the hand of combined medical correction, but it had a completely different mechanism than in control groups and groups of rats with hypothyroidism. In addition, rats with hypothyroidism and correction had in distal segment of the sciatic nerve new fibers covered by myelin sheath without pathological changes. Combined medicamental correction by calcitonin and L-tiroxini positivly influens on the process of forming of myelin sheath of newborn fibers and energy supply of nerve fibers.But totally does not provide full restoration of the damaged sciatic nerve in hypothyroidism. More positively effect in damaged sciatic nerve causing the epadol primarily affecting the myelinated fibers, providing better structural safety of their myelin sheath and activation of transport processes in aksoplasm.
