Description
Association of polymorphic variants of genes MGP and VDR with atherothrombotic ischemic stroke (AIS) in Ukrainian population was first investigated. Found that the risk of AIS homozygotes for the minor allele of the A/A (G-7A polymorphism MGP) is 2.6 times higher than that of the primary carriers of allele - G/G and G/A. Found an association between AIS and polymorphic variants G-7A MGP gene in females. In women gomomozigot on minor allele A/A, the risk of stroke 6.6 times higher than that of the primary carriers of allele (G/A + G/G). The influence of single nucleotide polymorphisms of vitamin D receptor gene on the clinical characteristics of atherothrombotic ischemic stroke was studied. It was determined that in patients who have F/F, b/b, a/a, a/A, and T/T genotypes, statistically significant association between hypertension and IS development exists.
