The process flow diagrams and processes for manufacturing dysprosium hafnate in the form of pellets and powder were developed. The results of investigations to substantiate the performance of absorber materials and defective absorber rod dummies are presented. A cost estimate for production of the developed absorber rod designs for WWER-1000 reactor control and protection system absorber rods was done to confirm the economic viability of establishing production of control and protection system absorber rods in Ukraine
