The aim of the research - to give theoretic reasoning and experimentally test the efficiency of forms, methods and conditions of personality formation in the process of teaching and learning humanitarian subjects, to elaborate the methods of their improvement. Methods of the research - theoretical analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, psychological and pedagogical monitoring, interviewing, testing, pedagogical experiment aimed at defining the efficiency level of experimental work; engagement in common creative projects; quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The nature of the concept "personality self-improvement" is specified, structural components of personal self-improvement of students of economics are defined; a theoretic model of personal self-improvement of a student of economics is elaborated; the methods of realization of pedagogical conditions of personal self-improvement in the process of teaching and learning humanitarian subjects have been further developed. The content of national and patriotic education of university students is improved, forms and methods of professional training and education have been further developed. The integral study of foreign experience of foreign language education under conditions of multilingualism has been performed; ways of creative application of Sweden's educational experience under current conditions have been proposed. The results of the research have been implemented into the study process at higher economical establishments during teaching and learning humanitarian disciplines. Predicted development of the object of study implies searching for optimal methods of teaching and learning humanitarian subjects.
