The shards of crystals have been used as raw material for further experiments on growing single-crystal fibers. 29 fibers of LuAG and 15 fibers of LuAG:Ce in length up to 25 cm have been grown by micro-pulling down method. It has been established that the reason for a low radiation stability is an increased impurity content of Gd, Si, C in a raw material.
